Career Development Unit

One of our main obligations, given the rapidly changing paradigms and the legal business, is to make sure that our students, who are highly brilliant and energetic future lawyers, receive the most assistance possible in pursuing a career in this competitive, acute market. With this goal in mind, DLS has established a specialised wing called Career Development Unit (CDU). The primary goal is to support and assist new graduates as they enter the professional world.

A few of the many duties falling under the purview of CDU include holding career-specific seminars, providing individualised guidance, advisory services, reviewing resumes and cover letters, conducting mock interviews and creating graduate directories to help students locate the best businesses and law firms based on their interests.

We operate under a diverse network that centres around several legal sectors, including law firms, corporate or commercial incorporations, social justice organisations, state-owned organisations, or non-governmental organisations (NGO) and educational institutions.

In an effort to help the star talent land its ideal position, CDU has already prepared new platforms and resources such as webinars, workshops, personal development lessons, and becoming the first-ever human resource intermediary joining our recent graduates with the legal sector.

Vision and Mission

CDU conducts career specific seminars, providing one-to-one guidance and advisory services, resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews and publishing graduate directories in order to assist our students in the daunting task of finding the right organizations/ law firms based on their interests and career prospects.

The CDU also routinely informs all students of its different activities and programs and strongly encourages the entire student body to actively participate in the same in order to procure maximum benefit.

CDU ACADEMIC SERIES, “THE LEGAL ALTAR”

As the first initiative from the CDU, 10-episode long webinar series based on professional development skills and competencies, primarily for law students was introduced.

The intent of this series was to help students polish and develop the much needed craft to ace in your respective professional spheres.
