The Global Economy & Multinational Enterprise

    This course will provide an overview of the growth and development of the global economy during the twentieth century. It will examine the forces shaping the global economy and the institutions to which it has given rise, from the World Trade Organisation to the Multinational Enterprise (MNE).

    The course will also give attention to the development of MNEs and the role of Foreign Direct Investment as a driving force in the integration of developing countries into the globalisation process as well as the consequences of globalisation concerning the environment, social inequalities, and poverty.
